Sundown at the Lucky Star

(Formerly Titled: Dementia: A Musical?)

Meet some of the staff, residents, and not-so-welcome visitors at Lucky Star, a senior care facility where "We treat you better than your family."

Sundown at the Lucky Star is a musical comedy/drama about a day in the life of a nursing home. It has been produced and performed live on stage, as an independent short film, and as a music festival presentation. The Lucky Star Players are composed of both professional and amateur singers and musicians. Click here for sample recordings.

Sundown at the Lucky Star is also a one-hour continuing education program that has been presented at legal and medical conferences. The abbreviated program combines story-telling and live music to address issues of life and aging, with and without dementia. It is available in combination with workshops and discussion groups.
